How to resize an image / photo
This tutorial is a guide on how to resize an image or photo using a number of different applications. Its REALLY basic, but if your reading this I guess that what you want!
Resizing an image in MS Paint
in this first example I'm going to look at resizing and image using Microsoft paint (a build in application in Microsoft windows OS).
Firstly, open the image in MS Paint:
Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint
From the MS Paint menu go to:
Image > Sketch/Skew (or press ctrl+w on the keyboard)
Here you have to supply a percentage value in the 'stretch' field for both horizontal and vertical. Obviously this depends on how big the image is and how big you want the image to be but provide an equal amount in both fields to keep the image in its original proportions.
Once you are happy with the size of the image click: (n.b. press ctrl+Z to undo any unwanted image resizing)
File > Save As
If the image is a photo you should go for a JPEG file type to retain quality. Alternatively, if you have a image with solid colours go for a GIF image.
Save the image under the desired file name and your done. That simple.
Other image resizing tutorials to follow
I'll add a few other tutorials for Photoshop, Paintshop Pro and a few other image editing application as i go on but for no that's it I'm afraid.
Hope that helped! Please leave your feedback
